5 key aspects you should consider when seeking a relationship

As women, it’s always hard for us to get whatever it is we need, it can be in life or
relationships, first things first, life is hard, we can’t always get what we want and
that’s okay because it’s structured that way.

But that’s why it’s always important for us to value the things that we do have. We learn how to take the things that life throws our way and we make the most out of them.

This necessarily doesn’t mean that we have to settle, it’s our responsibility to draw
the line. Yes, you can teach yourself to compromise and settle for certain things
but you need to set boundaries for yourself. It may be easy to keep on settling for something even when it’s less than what you deserve.

However, here are somethings that you are surely deserving of when you get in a relationship, things that you shouldn’t compromise on;

  • Good Banter
Good conversations are very important in a relationship, can you be able to have a
full conversation with your partner without it ending in an argument, having a
partner who is a great listener as much as a good communicator is very important.
  • Love
Having a partner who loves you as much as you love them is one of the most
important things you need in a relationship, My mother once told me that it is important to find someone who is utterly and completely in love with you more because they would move mountains for you to see you happy and you deserve that.
  • Future Thinking
When you are committed to a relationship, the main purpose of the relationship is
to foresee its future, Be with someone who plans and includes you in it, it gives you
a sense of belonging that they are always thinking about you, I don’t necessarily
mean you have to pressure someone into including you in their future, if you have
to, then it’s not worth it.

  • Financial Stability
Love is beautiful, it’s amazing and free but let’s be honest, it doesn’t quite pay the
bills. Financial stability is very important in a relationship because if the
relationship is an economic burden on one person then it’s not going to last.
  • Trust
Trust is the base of any relationship, someone who is not driven by
insecurities and jealousy is a keeper.

One thing we all need to understand before getting into a relationship is self-love,
if you can not appreciate and love yourself then no one ever will, because you don’t
see that in yourself.
