Want a happy marriage? Get tipsy together

For newlyweds who are embarking on a new journey together, getting tipsy together should be added to their list of things-to-do.

According to a recent study from the University of Buffalo, relationships are more likely to end in divorce when only one spouse is a heavy drinker.  Couples with similar drinking habits had a 20 per cent better chance of staying married than relationships with dissimilar booze preferences.

According to the study author Kenneth leonard, Ph.D., “Uneven liquor consumption hints that a couple may be less likely to socialize together, which could have a detrimental impact on their marriage,” sometimes leading to divorce.

In order to ensure your relationship stays happy, you need to spend more shared time together – something uneven drinking habits prevent – and work on compatibility.

As long as you have something in common, even if it’s alcohol consumption, your marriage is more likely to succeed.
