NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 31 – The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is set to officially launch its Leadership School, marking a strategic shift from being an election-focused party to becoming a permanent ideological institution.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), UDA highlighted the importance of benchmarking and adopting world-class political training frameworks.
The party revealed that it is studying the Communist Party of China’s (CPC) century-long expertise in cadre training and grassroots mobilization to shape its program.
“We are not only focused on winning elections; we are building a world-class UDA Leadership School to train leaders of today and tomorrow,” the party said.
The initiative aims to provide political education, leadership skills, and disciplined governance practices to party members across Kenya.
By benchmarking with the Zhejiang Provincial Party School, UDA seeks to adopt best practices in political discipline, governance, and community engagement.
UDA’s leadership emphasized that the school is part of a broader effort to institutionalize the party, creating a sustainable system for nurturing future political leaders rather than relying solely on election cycles.
Political analysts say the move could strengthen UDA’s organizational structure and deepen its grassroots connections, giving the party a competitive advantage in Kenya’s dynamic political landscape.
The UDA Leadership School is expected to focus on ideological training, leadership development, and public service skills, reflecting global best practices in political education.
The launch date of the school has not yet been announced.
