NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 10 – Synkron Africa has launched an industrial automation training centre in Nairobi aimed at strengthening engineering skills across East Africa.
The Synkron Training Center will provide engineers with hands-on training in advanced automation systems, allowing them to access specialised technical skills locally rather than travelling abroad.
The facility will offer instruction in programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial drives, control logic and automation diagnostics, with engineers working directly with equipment used in modern manufacturing and energy systems.
Participants who complete the training will receive internationally recognised certification from global technology firms including Siemens.
Industry experts say expanding access to specialised training locally will help strengthen the technical workforce supporting the region’s growing industrial sector.
Julius Karanja from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology said bringing advanced training closer to engineers will allow more professionals to develop practical expertise needed to maintain complex industrial systems.
Synkron Africa Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Mantu said the centre will help expand automation expertise across the region as industries increasingly adopt advanced technologies.
The company has delivered more than 1,000 automation projects across 46 African countries since 2010, supporting manufacturers such as Coca-Cola, Diageo and Heineken, as well as utilities including KenGen and Kenya Power.
The launch comes as Kenya seeks to expand manufacturing and industrial capacity under the country’s Kenya Vision 2030 economic development agenda.
