NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 8 – State House Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu on Sunday declined to comment on a recording, allegedly of the Leader of the Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale, advocating for the use of force against those of the Kamba community who dare register as voters in the Garissa Township which he currently represents.
Esipisu told reporters that the matter was currently before investigative authorities with Duale having filed a complaint with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
He however failed to mention that former Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim — who is expected to stand against Duale in the upcoming General Elections with the backing of Wiper Democratic Movement party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who happens to be a Kamba — filed a complaint first.
He also failed to fully address the question which was that given Duale has in the past acted as the Jubilee administration’s mouthpiece, are the comments attributed to him the position of the national government.
Kamba leaders including Musyoka have united in calls for the arrest and prosecution of Duale particularly considering President Uhuru Kenyatta’s pledge to deal decisively with all who propagate hate speech, “Let it not be mere lip service.”

Duale’s response to the audio recording was it is, “fake & crude propaganda. It’s the work of a bygone era politician attempting to cook fake news.”
