NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 18-Indonesia marked its 81st Independence Day on Monday, August 17, 2026, with a flag-raising ceremony at the Indonesian Embassy in Nairobi, bringing together members of the Indonesian community in Kenya and friends of Indonesia.
Led by Indonesian Ambassador to Kenya Witjaksono Adji, the ceremony featured the hoisting of the Red and White flag, the singing of the national anthem Indonesia Raya, the recitation of Pancasila, readings from the 1945 Constitution and the Proclamation of Independence, as well as prayers and a moment of remembrance for those who sacrificed for the country’s freedom.
