New documentary showcases Angola’s popular Kuduro dance and music

kuduro

Portuguese director Mario Patrocinio explores the impact of Kuduro as a lifestyle in Luanda and beyond.

Kuduro (or kuduru) is a type of music and dance originally developed in Angola in the 1980s. Its signature uptempo, energetic, and danceable beats have amassed quite a large global following.

Watch out for the killer dance moves and performances in Patrocinio’s I Love Kuduro, which is set to screen at Toronto’s Hot Docs International Film Festival April 2014.
