NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 2 – More than 700 students and parents from 13 schools attended a university fair in Nairobi that brought together representatives from over 104 universities from Europe, the United States, Asia and Australia.
The fair, hosted by Crawford International School at its Tatu City campus on September 25 in partnership with Uniserv Education, provided students with information on university admissions, scholarships, visas and accommodation for those seeking to study abroad.
Students engaged directly with university representatives on entry requirements, available courses and alternative degree programmes, including combined courses in areas such as law and international relations.
The event also provided information on financial aid, merit-based grants and partial and full scholarships, as students and parents weighed the cost of pursuing higher education outside Kenya.
“The world does not reward knowledge alone; it rewards what young people can do with that knowledge”.
The fair also covered visa application requirements, accommodation and opportunities for internships, student exchanges and cultural immersion programmes.
Crawford said its graduates have secured placements at more than 120 international universities, highlighting the growing role of schools in helping students navigate overseas higher education options.
The event comes as Kenyan students increasingly consider international universities as part of their higher education plans, with access to information on admissions, financing and immigration requirements becoming an important part of the decision-making process.
The participation of parents also brought discussions around tuition costs, relocation and longer-term career planning into the university selection process.
The fair was open beyond Crawford students, with learners from other international and national schools attending the event.
