NAIROBI, Kenya, May 13 – SNDBX International Chief Executive Officer Joram Mwinamo has launched a new business book targeting African entrepreneurs, arguing that many founders across the continent are still relying on foreign business models that do not reflect the realities of African markets.
The book, titled The Enterprise Jungle: An Entrepreneur’s Navigation Toolkit, focuses on practical business decision-making in environments characterized by uncertainty, weak legal structures, payment delays and low trust levels.
Mwinamo said many entrepreneurship training programs in Africa continue to mirror Western business environments where legal systems and institutional structures are more predictable.
“The majority of professionals join the jungle without proper preparation,” said Mwinamo.
“It’s like a doctor who is trained to heal but never taught how to run a hospital. In this region, you don’t just build a business; you have to build the environment around it.”
The book draws from Mwinamo’s experience working across 10 African countries over the last 21 years and seeks to provide locally relevant business frameworks for founders operating in complex markets.
According to the author, the publication shifts away from academic theory and instead focuses on practical systems for navigating operational risks, investor relations, customer trust and business growth in African economies.
Founder’s Battlefield founder Mike Macharia described the publication as a practical guide for entrepreneurs operating in high-pressure business environments.
“What sets this apart is that it isn’t about theories; it’s a decision-making system for stress-filled environments,” Macharia said.
The launch also marks the beginning of a wider entrepreneurship learning platform expected to include business training programs aimed at helping founders transition from informal growth strategies to more structured business development.
The book is currently available through Amazon and Joram Mwinamo’s website.
