NAIROBI, Kenya July 9 – Anglican Church of Kenya Provost at the All Saints’ Cathedral Reverend Sammy Wainaina has bid farewell to the church after serving for 13 years.
During the installation of his successor Reverend Cannon Evans Omollo, Wainaina thanked the Church for according him the support he needed to be the personality he is today.
“The people of The Cathedral, I thank you for loving me and for allowing me to serve you. This Church was not only my place of work, it became a place for my family,” he said during the Sunday event.
And he added: “When we went to London we went looking for All Saints Cathedral in London, you cannot find All Saints Cathedral in London. This is a special church, we are now looking for churches; it’s very hard for us to find churches that our two teenagers can fit in. Protect this Church and preserve it.”
Wainaina will now be moving to London, UK to take up the role of advisor on Anglican Communion Affairs for the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.
The former Provost was ordained in 1996 in Nakuru Diocese and has been in the religious ministry for over 25 years, serving in different capacities.
