NAIROBI, Kenya Oct 31 – Edwin Sifuna’s Linda Mwananchi movement is taking its political message to the Coast a day after the party unveiled its new identity and secretariat.

The tour, led by party leader Edwin Sifuna, will cover several towns in Kwale, with the main rally scheduled for Ukunda Showground at 3pm.

The political caravan is expected to pass through Samburu Town, Kinango Town, Kombani Junction and Lunga Lunga before concluding with the main gathering in Ukunda.

Sifuna has increasingly positioned himself as a potential presidential contender, with the Linda Mwananchi platform providing an avenue to sell his political agenda and connect with voters beyond his traditional support base.

However, his presidential ambitions come at a time when opposition leaders have yet to agree on a single candidate to challenge President William Ruto in 2027.

The opposition has continued to face the challenge of balancing individual presidential ambitions with calls for a united political front.

The rebranding of the party and unveiling of its secretariat on Friday, October 30, marked another step in the movement’s efforts to establish itself as a political force ahead of the next election.

The Kwale tour is part of the wider mobilisation strategy, with the leadership seeking to take its message directly to Kenyans through public rallies.

The movement has invited supporters to attend the Ukunda gathering, which will serve as the main event of the day’s activities.
