Ever heard of twins born days, month and years apart? We bet not, but you are about to, now.
California natives Fatima Madrigal and her husband Robert Trujillo welcomed their fraternal twins Alfredo Antonio and Aylin Yolanda on December 31 at 11.45 PM and January at 12.00 AM respectively, making them twins with no similar birth years, days or months. The rare birth occasion was termed a ‘one in two million’ chance by Natividad Medical Centre, the hospital where the two newborns were delivered.
“At midnight, Natividad welcomed Aylin Yolanda Trujillo as the area’s first baby of 2022! Her twin, Alfredo Antonio Trujillo, was born 15 minutes earlier at 11:45 pm Friday, Dec. 31, meaning their birthday falls on a different day, month and year— a 1 in 2 million chance!” posted the hospital on their Twitter account.
Their elated mom, Madrigal, said she was pleasantly surprised at the occurrence but was happy that the daughter was born at midnight. “It’s crazy to me that they are twins and have different birthdays. I was surprised and happy that she arrived at midnight,” she said, according to PEOPLE magazine.
