NAIROBI,Kenya, Jul 11 – The President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi will arrive in Kenya Wednesday for a state visit after he rescheduled his trip to Nairobi.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that the visit was postponed allowing for finalization of “key Memorandum of Associations (MoUs) that are central to the furtherance of relations.”
Earlier, the decision to reschedule the visit was confirmed by State House, although specific reasons for the sudden change in the program were not provided
According to MFA the visit will provide the two countries with an opportunity to review and re-energize their bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of the people of the two nations.
“The Iranian President will now arrive tomorrow for a State Visit,” Kenya’s MFA said.
During his time in Kenya, President Raisi is expected to engage in a bilateral meeting with President William Ruto at State House
He will, thereafter, proceed to lay a wreath at the Mausoleum of the late President Jomo Kenyatta before proceeding to Uganda and Zimbabwe.
