NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 31 – The Government plans to construct an ultra-modern Gikomba Market following the demolition of makeshift structures that had encroached on riparian land along the Nairobi River.
Under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), the new market will cost Sh3 billion.
The project is expected to improve working conditions, enhance safety, and support thousands of traders who rely on the market for their livelihoods.
