NAIROBI, Kenya Aug 6 – Political Strategist Pauline Njoroge has dismissed the registration of a political outfit known as Linda Party, saying it should not stand in the way of the Linda Mwananchi movement’s efforts to reserve its name.
Njoroge who serves as the Linda Mwananchi Movement Head of Communications accused the administration of incompetence, and claimed the creation of the party was an unconvincing attempt to justify denying the movement’s application.
She argued that the word “Linda” is not an acronym but a Kiswahili word, adding that the explanation surrounding the name dispute does not hold.
Njoroge further cited examples of political parties with related names, saying the existence of similar party names in Kenya demonstrates that such cases are not unprecedented.
She vowed that the movement would continue seeking formal recognition of the Linda Mwananchi name.
