NAIROBI, Kenya, April 11 – More than 100 families have moved into Kijani Ridge, the flagship residential neighbourhood at Tatu City, with another 100 expected to settle by the end of 2025, according to the city’s management.
The development, located about 30 minutes from Nairobi, is nearing full occupancy and is marketed as one of East Africa’s only fully serviced communities within a master-planned city.
Launched in 2015, Kijani Ridge offers serviced plots with 99.7% electricity uptime, a constant potable water supply, and a network of underground fibre and paved roads.
Land values in the area have reportedly increased fivefold since the neighbourhood’s inception.
“Kijani Ridge offers more than land; it’s a community for generations,” said Linda Nyaseda, Head of City Management at Tatu City.
“The quiet, green environment and modern infrastructure create a unique living experience.”
Residents have access to amenities including two international schools—Crawford International and Nova Pioneer—a 79-acre private park with a lake, and 15 km of nature trails. The neighbourhood also supports a variety of bird species, providing a natural environment within an urban setting.
Tatu City aims to accommodate over 250,000 residents and is designed with smart city principles such as walkability, green spaces, and efficient infrastructure. More than 25,000 people currently live, work, or study in the city.
A key component of the city’s growth is Eneo at Tatu Central, a mixed-use commercial hub developed by Gateway Real Estate Africa.
It houses CCI Global’s 5,000-seat call centre, alongside businesses including Naivas Supermarket, Tamambo, I&M Bank, and Safaricom Shop, among others.
Other housing options in the city include Jabali Towers, offering studio to penthouse apartments, and Mugumo Rise, a townhouse development geared toward families.
Tatu City is currently home to over 100 businesses, including Heineken, Dormans, Davis & Shirtliff, and ADvTECH.
