Renowned Luo musician Oloo Renja is celebrating the legacy of one of Kenya’s most influential political figures through “Oginga Odinga,” a historical recording dedicated to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, Kenya’s first Vice-President. Recorded alongside fellow celebrated Luo artist Shem Kadipo, the song captures a moment where music, culture and Kenya’s political history come together.
Rooted in the rich storytelling traditions of dholuo, “Oginga Odinga” pays homage to Jaramogi’s place in Kenya’s independence story and his enduring significance within the Luo community.
