NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 27 – The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) has halted trading in HFCB Group shares after the company released its financial results during trading hours.
The NSE said the disclosure breached Regulation 89(4) of the Capital Markets (Public Offers, Listings and Disclosures) Regulations, 2023, which requires listed companies to promptly disclose material information to the public and the securities exchange.
The exchange said the trading halt was necessary to give investors time to receive and assess the new information and prevent potential unfair trading advantages.
“The Nairobi Securities Exchange Plc (NSE) wishes to notify investors and the public that it has halted trading in the shares of HFCB Group Plc for today’s trading session, following the release of the Company’s financial results during trading hours,” the NSE said.
The halt was effected under Rule 9.4.2(c) of the NSE Trading Rules for Equity Securities, with approval from the Capital Markets Authority (CMA).
NSE trading runs from Monday to Friday, with the active equity trading session taking place between 9am and 3pm.
The exchange said the action was intended to facilitate the orderly dissemination and assimilation of HFCB’s financial information by investors.
HFCB Group reported a net profit of Sh1.22 billion for the six months to June 2026, up from Sh703 million recorded in the same period last year.
The NSE has not indicated when trading in the company’s shares will resume.
