NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 15 – Milk production in Kenya rose by 5.1 percent in the 11 months to November last year compared to a similar period in 2022, a new report shows.
The latest data from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) shows that the country produced 730.87 million litres of milk, a growth from 695.08 million.
An increase in production came at a time when the country last year received above-average rainfall that boosted pasture and water.
”Milk intakes in the formal sector declined from 74.7 million liters in October 2023 to 74.3 million liters in November 2023,” read KNBS report.
