Hotpoint, Hisense Partner to Push Premium Smart Home Technology in Kenya Ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026

NAIROBI, Kenya, May 17 – Hotpoint Appliances has partnered with Hisense in a deal aimed at accelerating the adoption of premium smart home and entertainment technologies in Kenya ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The partnership will see Hotpoint leverage its nationwide retail, distribution and after-sales infrastructure to roll out Hisense’s portfolio of AI-powered televisions, smart home appliances and connected living technologies to Kenyan consumers.

The move comes as electronics retailers increasingly position themselves to benefit from growing demand for smart entertainment systems, energy-efficient appliances and connected home ecosystems amid rising digital adoption across Kenyan households.

Hotpoint, which has operated in Kenya since 1984, said the partnership marks a major step in expanding access to globally recognized consumer technologies through its extensive retail and service network.

“This partnership marks a new chapter for Hotpoint. For more than 42 years, we have built one of Kenya’s most trusted appliance businesses, and with Hisense’s global innovation and product leadership behind us, we can now bring Kenyan consumers a truly world-class technology experience,”said Hotpoint Appliances CEO Ravi Kanani.

The partnership is also expected to intensify competition in Kenya’s fast-growing electronics and home appliance market, where brands are increasingly investing in AI-driven products, immersive entertainment experiences and smart energy-saving technologies.

Hisense said Kenya remains a strategic growth market within its broader Africa expansion plans, particularly as demand rises for high-end display technologies and connected home solutions.

“Partnering with Hotpoint marks a defining milestone in Hisense’s Africa growth strategy and reflects our long-term commitment to the Kenyan market. Together, we are bringing Kenyan consumers some of the world’s latest and most advanced innovations across home entertainment and smart living,”said  Hisence MEA and India president Jason Ou.

The partnership launches alongside a nationwide football-themed marketing campaign tied to Hisense’s sponsorship of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The campaign will include above-the-line advertising, mall activations, digital campaigns, in-store engagement zones and interactive football experiences aimed at boosting consumer engagement during the tournament buildup.

As part of the promotion, customers purchasing selected Hisense smart TVs through Hotpoint will receive a complimentary one-month DStv Compact subscription valued at Sh4,200, with the televisions pre-loaded with DStv Stream.

The launch also marked the Kenyan debut of several of Hisense’s latest premium technologies, including the UR9 Series RGB MiniLED TVs unveiled at CES 2026, alongside the UR8 Series RGB MiniLED lineup, PureView Quad-Door refrigerators and the 5i AI-powered laundry range.
