NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 14 – Equity Group has launched a German Desk in partnership with DEG (Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft) to attract German SMEs and businesses operating in East Africa.

The desk will provide services such as account opening, trade facilitation, credit lines, and investment support, focusing on enhancing trade engagement, fostering partnerships, and enabling local firms to acquire German equipment and technology.

“This partnership with DEG is a milestone for Equity Group Holdings, creating opportunities for German and European private sector players to access the vibrant East African market while supporting local businesses,” said James Mwangi, Equity Group MD and CEO.

Petra Kotte, Senior Director at DEG, emphasized the desk’s role in strengthening German-African trade ties: “By offering tailored financial solutions and fostering cross-border partnerships, we empower businesses to thrive in this dynamic market.”

The German Desk will operate across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, and Ethiopia, with bilingual professionals bridging German and East African business cultures.
