CCI Global expands into Kenya, opens Sh6.6bn Tatu City Call Centre
NAIROBI, Kenya, May 11 – CCI Global, Africa’s business outsourcing firm, yesterday opened a Sh6.6 billion ($50 million) call centre at Tatu City in Ruiru, Kiambu County.
Housed in a five-storey building in the 5,000-acre Special Economic Zone (SEZ), the facility is now Kenya’s largest call centre with a capacity to inject over 5,000 new job opportunities into the market in the short term.
CCI also announced that plans are underway to set up a second building at the same SEZ, doubling its call centre workforce in the country to 10,000 in different roles.
“This launch represents a significant step forward in our mission to provide top-tier BPO services while contributing to Kenya’s socio-economic development,” Rishi Jatania, CEO of CCI Kenya, said.
“We believe in the potential of this region and are excited to set the gold standard for BPO operations in Africa.”
The $50 million is part of the $150 million total investment that CCI Global has pumped into Kenga since 2016. On the continent, its investment exceeds $2 billion.
“CCI’s Tatu City’s Call Centre makes a significant contribution to the development of the BPO industry, which is growing rapidly in our cities, and will create a million jobs for Kenyans alone in the next few years,” said Stephen Jennings, Founder & CEO of Rendeavour, the owner and developer of Tatu City.
“With the right management, technology, international access and enabling ecosystem, Kenyan BPO workers excel on a global scale.”
