Blankets And Wine Unleashes Epic Lineup For The ‘Kenya Summer III’ December Edition

Blankets and Wine, Kenya’s premier festival, just released the lineup of performers for its next and last edition of 2023 – and boy is it mindblowing!

After a very successful run with the last three editions this year, Blankets and Wine will culminate in yet one more to close out 2023. Slated for December 17, Blankets and Wine will see a selection of stars – both prolific and new – take to the stage.

This edition’s bill includes Sauti Sol singer and now solo star Bien, new Neo-soul singer Njerae, Rapper Mandy, newest meteor of the ‘Mwaki’ hit Sofiya Nzau, boy group Watendawili, Blankets CEO and revered musician Muthoni the Drummer Queen and Congolese maestro Mbilia Bel.

Fans could not contain their excitement once they caught a glimpse of the upcoming show that is bound to bring Nairobi to a standstill, at the peak of the festive season.

“The lineup for this edition embodies the spirit of Blankets & Wine, fusing tradition and innovation,” Says Muthoni the Drummer Queen. “The selection of artists promises a day and night of musical diversity, ranging from Afrobeat rhythms to soulful sounds, celebrating the richness and diversity of the African music landscape.”

The December edition, dubbed Kenyan Summer III, promises to elevate the festival series to new heights, featuring a diverse and dynamic lineup that celebrates the rich tapestry of African music. With gates opening at mid-day, the enchanting venue aims to provide an immersive experience for attendees.

The last three variations of the event went down in April, July and October this year and saw yet another slew of stars entertain the droves of revelers who flocked Laureate Garden to catch the live action. Suzanna Owiyo, Wangechi, Nameless, Lisa Oduor and Bensoul are some of the stars that taken to the Blankets stage this year.

A historic event in the African entertainment and events scene, Blankets had taken a break occasioned by Covid-19 for almost 3 years, but would make a comeback in December, 2022.
