NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 12 – Absa Bank Kenya has reported a net profit of Sh11.7 billion for the first half of the year, a 9 percent increase from Sh10.7 billion in the same period last year.
The lender attributed the growth to a 26.5 percent return on equity and stronger non-interest income streams.
“Our results highlight the resilience of our operations and the relevance of our growth strategy, centred on being the primary partner for our customers,” said Managing Director and CEO Abdi Mohamed.
Customer deposits rose 2.3 percent to Sh361 billion, while customer assets dropped 3.6 percent to Sh305 billion. Total assets climbed 10.4 percent to Sh532 billion.
The board has approved an interim dividend of Sh0.20 per ordinary share for 2025, payable on or about October 15 to shareholders on record by September 19.
