The Kenyan media fraternity is mourning the loss of Veteran Television News Anchor Catherine Kasavuli.
The 60-year-old succumbed to cervical cancer at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) on Thursday (29.12.2022) evening.
Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) Acting MD Samuel Maina confirmed Kasavuli’s death.
Until her demise, Kasavuli worked at KBC where she was part of the team of legends that were recruited to revamp the station.
In November 2022, Kasavuli revealed that she had been battling cancer when she took social media to thank Kenyans after her blood donation appeal went viral.
Following the announcement, tributes are pouring in from fans and media colleagues alike.
Kasavuli reigned the airwaves for decades since her debut as the only female News anchor back in the 80s.
