NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 19 – Suspended Communication Authority of Kenya (CA) Director General (DG) Ezra Chiloba has resigned.
Chiloba tendered his resignation letter to CA’s Board of Directors yesterday.
The embattled DG was last month shown the door over an alleged gross violation of his role.
He was accused of applying for and self-approving a mortgage loan without following the right procedure.
“On behalf of the Authority, I wish the outgoing Director General success in his future endeavours and appreciate his invaluable contribution to the organization and the wider ICT sector,” said CA Board Chairperson Mary Mungai.
Chiloba, who previously served as the CEO of the Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission (IEBC), was appointed to the CA post in 2021, replacing the late Francis Wangusi.
Christopher Wambua was later appointed as DG in an acting capacity.
