NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 24 – The Vision 2030 Secretariat has brought together stakeholders to discuss Kenya’s development priorities and the country’s future beyond the Vision 2030 framework.
The multi-stakeholder consultative meeting, held at the Central Bank School of Monetary Studies in Nairobi, brings together representatives from government, the private sector, civil society, academia, professional bodies and development partners.
The consultations are part of efforts to develop a broad national conversation on Kenya’s development after Vision 2030.
Participants are expected to share views on the opportunities and challenges that will shape the country’s economic and social development beyond the current national development blueprint.
The Secretariat said the consultations would help gather views and recommendations from different sectors and communities to inform the next phase of Kenya’s development planning.
It said continued collaboration among government, businesses, civil society, academia and other stakeholders would be critical in shaping the country’s future.
Participants will deliberate on key development issues and provide recommendations that will feed into the wider national consultation process.
The Secretariat said the process is intended to ensure that different perspectives and aspirations are considered as Kenya prepares for the period beyond Vision 2030.
The Vision 2030 framework, launched in 2008, provides the country’s long-term development blueprint aimed at transforming Kenya into a globally competitive and prosperous nation with a high quality of life by 2030.
