NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 31 – Schneider Electric has unveiled its next-generation PrismaSeT range of power distribution switchboards in East Africa, targeting growing demand for smart and scalable energy solutions in sectors such as manufacturing, data centres, healthcare, and commercial real estate.
The new lineup includes the compact PrismaSeT G, a wall-mounted or floor-standing unit rated up to 630A and 25kA, suitable for mid-sized commercial and light industrial facilities, and the larger PrismaSeT P, rated up to 4,000A and 100kA, designed for energy-intensive industries and large-scale installations.
“East African businesses increasingly require smart, scalable, and safe electrical infrastructure to support rapid growth and ensure business continuity,” said Geraldine Sande, Channel Sales Leader at Schneider Electric East Africa. “The PrismaSeT range helps customers improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and adapt as their energy needs evolve.”
The PrismaSeT system is type-tested for reliability and operator safety, with reinforced frames for durability in harsh environments. Its built-in cloud connectivity enables facility managers to access real-time data on power usage, monitor system health, and receive smart alarms, supporting predictive maintenance and reducing energy waste.
Schneider has also integrated HeatTag, its AI-driven fire prevention technology, into the PrismaSeT range. HeatTag detects early chemical changes inside switchboards, allowing cable overheating to be identified before traditional sensors can respond.
Installation time is reduced by up to 20 percent thanks to predefined mounting and front plates aligned with Schneider circuit breakers. The modular design also supports future expansion without replacing entire units, a benefit for rapidly evolving industries.
The PrismaSeT G supports low-voltage distribution up to 630A, offers modular expansion, and integrates with Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure IoT platform. The PrismaSeT P handles capacity up to 4,000A, is designed for large-scale facilities, and supports predictive maintenance through wireless sensors while integrating with HeatTag and PowerLogic systems.
Schneider said the range provides a future-ready platform to meet East Africa’s increasing energy demands while supporting sustainability and operational efficiency.
