NAIROBI, Kenya Sep 2 – Constitutional bodies are set to come under scrutiny as religious leaders convene a national stakeholders’ convention focused on preparations for the 2027 General Election.
The Kenya Religious Leaders Forum, bringing together Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops, Evangelical Alliance of Kenya, Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims and National Conference of Churches of Kenya, is holding the two-day meeting at Ufungamano House in Nairobi.
The forum says one of the key objectives is to assess the readiness of constitutional bodies to deliver elections that are democratic, credible and peaceful.
The stakeholders will also examine strategies for securing the 2027 electoral cycle and preventing disruptions that could undermine the electoral process.
The convention comes as preparations for the 2027 elections continue, with different institutions and stakeholders expected to play a role in ensuring a peaceful and credible poll.
