34 year old Rap star, Lil Wayne also known as Lil Tunchi made headlines after his recent interview with American media house ABC went live. In his interview, Dwayne Micheal Carter Jr. spoke on various issues including the Black Lives Matter movement that continues to highlight the struggle of African Americans living in the United States. Wayne’s opinion on the matter sparked outrage online as many were dismayed by his ignorance.

Weezy who has been involved in legal battles over the release of his latest album all the while releasing a memoir “Gone Till November” in late October on his prison experience, received lots of backlash because of his comments. According to the interview, when asked about the Black Lives Matter movement Lil Wayne said, ” I don’t feel connected to a damn thing that ain’t got nothing to do with me…”
With over 100 million records sold, Lil Wayne’s is known to break racial boundaries with a majority of his fans being Caucasian. Trying to explain his stance on the Black Lives Matter matter, Lil Wayne bragged “I am young, black and rich,” alluding to the fact that he sees racism as a non issue. Unhappy with the direction of the interview, Lil Wayne ended the interview abruptly and walked off set.
Lil Wayne is known to be outspoken and out of touch with matters affecting the black community. His ex-wife Antonia Wright defended the rapper’s ignorance stating ” Wayne lives in his own world.” During an interview with the popular trio of The Breakfast Club also in late October, Ms Wright explained Wayne is very ignorance remaining unaware of world events as he lives life in a bubble.
Lil Wayne has been on a promotional tour for his memoir “Gone Till November.” As part of the run-up to the launch of his book detailing his time on Rikers Island, Wayne went head to head with newbie Chocolate Droppa aka Kevin Hart.
