
NAIROBI, September 14 – A Kenyan is one of the four customers who will host a Barclays Premier League (BPL) legend in their home when the yet to be named star will visit the country on the weekend of December 4 and 5.
The unique chance is part of the Sh21m promotion of the English top flight league with massive following in the country that will run from September 7 to December 31 announced by the bank on Monday.
In addition to the home visit, a further 250 fans will also get to attend the Barclays Fan Zone for an exclusive match viewing opportunity with the visiting legend with two getting the chance to watch the north London derby between Tottenham Hotspurs and Arsenal in March, kitted in original BPL merchandise.
“To qualify for the trip to the UK or the Legend home visit, customers will need to open a salary account with Barclays and transfer their salary into this account every month.
“Further, customers who register for online banking through Barclays will also stand a chance of winning two tickets to attend the Barclays Premier League Fan Zone experience,” Zahid Mustafa, the bank’s Consumer Banking Director said.
Over 40 customers from Kenya have travelled to the UK to watch live premiership matches since 2001 when Barclays came on board with retired Chelsea stalwart, Marcel Desailly accompanying the Trophy during its Kenya visit in 2013.
