NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 4 — IHG Hotels & Resorts has opened its first Voco-branded hotel in Kenya and East Africa, adding 112 suites to the hospitality market near Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
Voco Nairobi Airport Suites officially opened on October 2 and is located about eight kilometres from JKIA, near the Nairobi SGR Terminus and Nairobi Expressway.
The hotel targets business travellers, transit passengers and long-stay guests using the airport and the Mombasa Road corridor.
General Manager Amit Sharma said the hotel combines apartment-style accommodation with hotel services.
“Voco Nairobi Airport Suites caters to modern travellers seeking home-like comfort combined with convenience. The property introduces a ‘refreshingly different’ option to the region,” Sharma said.
The hotel has one-bedroom, two-bedroom and presidential suites equipped with kitchens, workspaces and laundry facilities.It also has 623 square metres of meeting and events space spread across four venues.
Mara Hall, the largest venue, covers 235 square metres and can accommodate up to 180 delegates.
Other facilities include the rooftop Kilimanjaro Restaurant, Savannah Lounge, Cigar Haven, Malt & Mocha café and a fitness centre.
The opening adds another premium accommodation option to the Mombasa Road and JKIA corridor, which has a mix of budget hotels and established five-star properties.
