NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 18 – Nairobi County Assembly Minority Leader Anthony Kiragu has asked Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja to stop the many boardroom meetings and starting delivering for city residents.
Kiragu despite being in the same Alliance with Sakaja faulted the Governor for his continuous boardroom engagements, saying it’s now time to move to the ground and work for the people.
The Waithaka MCA made the remarks even as the Nairobi Governor is holding an induction session with his cabinet and other members of the county staff in Naivasha.
“The Governor is now overdoing the boardrooms. If you move around the city there are no projects going on, people want to see roads, water and other projects being implemented,” Kiragu stated.
Kenya Kwanza MCAs who are the minority in the Assembly have been at logger heads with Governor Sakaja and have since taken the opposition role after they accused him of sidelining them.
The MCAs rift with Sakaja started after he appointed Azimio la Umoja allies into key county positions, a claim the Governor clarified that he had received a nod from the President before he made the decision.
