NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 15 – Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has cut a litre of kerosene by Sh3.43 to Sh158.32 after the average landed cost of import dropped by 5.3 percent to $668.34 per cubic meter.
However, a litre of super petrol and diesel will remain unchanged at Sh188.84 as well as Sh171.6, respectively, till mid-October.
The stagnation is despite an average landed cost of super petrol dropping by 1.53 percent to $697.62 and diesel by 2.95 percent to $673.36, individually.
Also, they came at a time when the exchange rate for fuel purchases using one USA dollar dropped to Sh129.42 in August from Sh130.93 in July.
While the price drop in kerosene is a reprieve to thousands of households, motorists will have to contend with unchanged prices that are too high, making the cost of doing business much more expensive.
