NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 23 – Global communications platform Infobip recorded an unprecedented 11.6 billion interactions during Cyber Week, a 41 percent increase from last year, emphasizing the growing adoption of Rich Communication Services (RCS) and conversational experiences.
Between November 29 and December 2, SMS, email, and WhatsApp accounted for 5.5 billion interactions, with email seeing a 94 percent year-over-year growth. RCS interactions surged by 349 percent, solidifying its importance for retailers globally.
Infobip noted a 70 percent increase in interactions over the weekend, with over 5.1 billion recorded on November 30 and December 1, up from 3 billion in 2023. This indicates businesses’ growing focus on engaging consumers throughout the week, extending beyond Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
“Our data confirms that RCS has become a vital channel for delivering rich, personal, and conversational customer experiences,” said Ivan Ostojić, Infobip’s Chief Business Officer.
“Consumers are increasingly shopping throughout November, with Infobip enabling seamless and successful consumer journeys and transactions.”
This surge underscores the rising importance of integrated communication strategies in driving customer engagement and commercial success during peak shopping periods.
