NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 19 – The Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition party has cancelled its planned rally that was to take place in Mombasa next Saturday.
A statement from spokesperson Dennis Onyango instead indicated that the coalition will hold the people’s baraza in Kakamega on the same day.
Party leader Raila Odinga said the changes were to allow for better coordination of its activities.
“The party made a decision to clear with western Kenya, before proceeding to other parts of the country,” the statement indicated.
Odinga explained that the prayer rally scheduled for Jevanjee Gardens in Nairobi will proceed as planned.
The leaders took their anti-Ruto campaigns to Kisumu on Saturday a day after holding a similar event in Kisii.
During the Kisumu rally, Narc-K leader Martha Karua said they will not suspend the planned rallies against President William Ruto’s administration until they achieve their mission.
Karua stated that their meetings are peaceful and people-driven.
