NAIROBI, Kenya, August 15 – The 11th annual Financial Times Africa Summit is scheduled to take place in London this October, bringing together African Heads of State, policymakers, global investors, and business leaders.
The two-day summit is set to get underway from October 29 to October 30, 2024, with discussions being facilitated by Financial Times Editors.
David Pilling, who is an editor at the FT Africa, pointed out that the summit is set to examine and dive into individual topics including geopolitics, finance and investment, industrialisation, technology startups, the energy transition, decarbonisation, and sustainability.
“This year, an expanded two-day Summit aims to build on that record by providing unparalleled intellectual stimulus about the big issues and drilling deeper into individual topics to create a dynamic forum for policy innovation, networking, and actionable discussions,” he stated.
This year’s edition will kingpin how African nations can navigate global economic challenges, address the climate crisis, and drive sustainable, inclusive growth by leveraging the continent’s promising innovative tech sectors, young population, and dynamic markets.
The summit is also expected to offer networking, learning, and collaboration opportunities towards Africa’s multisectoral blooming.
Given the summit’s solid reputation, FT foreign editor Alec Russell asserted that it will play a huge role in streamlining Africa’s future.
“In the last decade, the FT’s Africa summit has rightly gained a reputation for stimulating and yet also unflinching debate on the issues facing the continent. Once again this will be the place to go for insight into not just the Africa of today but crucially of the day after tomorrow,” said FT foreign editor Alec Russell.
