NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 17 – The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) engaged the private sector in a high-level roundtable to address tax challenges and explore solutions to enhance business competitiveness and investment growth.
KRA Commissioner General Humphrey Wattanga reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to improving tax administration efficiency and fostering a business-friendly environment.
Kenya Private Sector Alliance CEO Carole Kariuki commended KRA for open dialogue and called for continued collaboration to refine taxation policies.
KRA encouraged businesses to utilize approved tax refunds to offset liabilities and announced a dedicated team to clean up taxpayer ledgers.
The agency also urged taxpayers to take advantage of the extended tax amnesty program, which waives penalties and interest for periods up to December 31, 2023, ahead of the June 30, 2025, deadline.
