NAIROBI, Kenya, June 16 – Owners of luxury vehicles in Kenya are increasingly opting for aftersales services from Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)-approved dealerships to maintain vehicle performance, safety standards, and long-term value.

Firms like Inchcape Kenya—official retailer and service provider for BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Changan—are seeing growing interest as customers prioritize certified service, genuine parts, and manufacturer-backed support over general garages.

Unlike independent workshops, OEM-approved dealers provide software updates directly from the vehicle manufacturer, helping improve fuel efficiency, system security, and overall performance. These updates are part of routine care for modern vehicles, particularly in the luxury segment where software is tightly integrated with drivability and diagnostics.

Another factor driving customers to authorized dealerships is the assurance of genuine parts. While aftermarket components may offer short-term savings, OEM parts are made specifically for the vehicle’s model and meet manufacturer standards for safety and durability. In Inchcape’s case, parts fitted at the dealership carry up to a two-year warranty.

OEM-approved technicians are also trained to handle complex systems in premium cars. Regular updates from manufacturers ensure they stay current with evolving automotive technology. Services often go beyond repairs, with technicians advising customers on preventive maintenance and early detection of faults.

For buyers of used luxury vehicles, Inchcape and similar dealerships offer brand-specific inspection tools and access to international vehicle histories—helping buyers assess the condition of a car before purchase.

As Kenya’s automotive market matures and vehicle technology becomes more complex, industry experts say OEM-backed aftersales networks will play a central role in enhancing road safety and protecting vehicle investments.
