Viral Video Of Woman Being Harassed By Boda-Boda Riders Angers Kenyans

A viral video of a woman being harassed by Boda-boda riders along Forest Road has caused a massive uproar among Kenyans.

In the extremely disturbing one-minute footage posted on TikTok, the woman who allegedly was involved in an accident with a boda-boda operator can be heard screaming as men attempt to address her and continuously harass her.


For the better part of Monday, the incident was trending on social media where users asked police to take immediate action and lock the culprits behind bars.

Kenyans on Twitter, celebrities and government officials alike took to various social media platforms to condemn the incident.

“What happened today at Forest road is utterly disgusting. Protect our women!,” posted Sauti Sol.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i vowed action on perpetrators. “I am shocked and disgusted by a viral video clip of a female motorist being molested by suspected boda boda riders along Wangari Maathai /Forest Road. We must protect our roads from such vile and reprehensible acts of aggression,” he said.

In the latest development, 14 suspects were arrested, and 5 motorcycles seized over sexual assault of the unidentified female motorist on Nairobi’s Forest Road.

Inspector-General of Police Hilary Mutyambai said the suspects were assisting detectives in their investigations. “We have arrested 14 suspects,” Mutyambai said of the arrest that followed pressure mounted by Kenyans on Twitter.
