NAIROBI, Kenya Feb 1 – The United Democratic Alliance is welcoming applications from aspirants interested in seeking its ticket for various seats in the August 9 General Elections.
A notice issued by National Election Board Chairman Anthony Mwaura, says aspirants can submit their applications online or to the Party’s headquarters in Nairobi.
“The applicants will have to submit their papers on or before February 28, 2022. The applications should be done via the UDA website,” the UDA Elections Board Chairman stated.
The party, which is linked to the Deputy President William Ruto, says male President aspirants will be expected to pay one million shillings while female aspirants will pay Sh500,000 as nomination fees.
Male aspirants seeking a nomination certificate for the Member of National Assembly and Senatorial seat have been directed to pay Sh250,000.
Female seeking a nomination certificate for the Member of National Assembly and Senatorial seat will pay Sh125,000.
Those seeking a nomination certificate for the County Woman Representative have been directed to pay Sh250,000.
Aspirants seeking nomination certificate for the Member of County Assembly seat have been directed to pay Sh50,000 and Sh25,000 for male and female aspirants respectively.
Nomination fees have been waived for People living with disabilities.
