NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 15 – Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has reassured vehicle owners insured by Directline Assurance Company that their claims will be processed without delays, despite the company’s ongoing ownership dispute.
Appearing before the National Assembly Finance Committee, Mbadi affirmed the insurer’s financial stability and commitment to honoring policy obligations.
He emphasized that vehicles with valid Directline insurance covers would remain operational without hindrance throughout their policy periods.
“Measures are being taken to ensure seamless operations for all vehicles insured by Directline,” Mbadi stated, addressing growing concerns among policyholders.
In June, the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) suspended the planned closure of Directline amid questions about its governance and financial stability.
A follow-up statement in September confirmed the company’s ability to continue serving customers, alleviating fears of disruptions.
Mbadi assured that any pending claims would be expedited once governance challenges are resolved, reinforcing the government’s commitment to protecting policyholders’ rights.
