NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 27 – Kenyan health-tech firm Smart Applications International has been named Product and Service Innovation of the Year at the 3i International Conference 2026.
The award, presented at the global forum convened by the Insurers Association of Mauritius, recognises the company’s role in advancing technology-driven solutions in healthcare and insurance.
Smart said the recognition underscores its focus on building integrated digital platforms that improve efficiency, accountability and outcomes for insurers and healthcare providers.
Speaking after receiving the award, Group Managing Director Harrison Muiru said the firm remains committed to driving transformation through innovation.

He said platforms such as MediSmart and Smart Insure are helping insurers automate processes, cut costs and scale operations efficiently while maintaining oversight.
The conference brought together global industry players to discuss emerging trends, including artificial intelligence, insurer-provider collaboration and the shift towards integrated digital ecosystems.
The award highlights Smart Applications’ expanding international footprint and its growing role in digital transformation across healthcare and insurance sectors.
