NAIROBI, Kenya, June 9 – Schneider Electric Kenya and Rwanda Airports Company (RAC) have signed a technical Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on strengthening Rwanda’s airport infrastructure.
The agreement outlines areas of cooperation, including technical support, maintenance, and consultancy related to electrical systems, energy management, and automation.
The partnership also aims to improve operational efficiency, safety, cyber security, and sustainability across RAC-managed airports.
RAC Managing Director Charles Habonimana said the partnership will support ongoing efforts to modernise the country’s aviation facilities.
“This MoU is a strategic partnership to enhance passenger experience, operational efficiency, compliance, safety, cyber security, and sustainability,” he said.
Ifeanyi Odoh, President of Schneider Electric Kenya, said the company will support the development of a Unified Operations Centre to streamline decision-making and oversight.
He added that Schneider Electric would also contribute to sustainability planning, including the integration of renewable energy, energy efficiency measures, and AI-driven predictive maintenance.
The MoU establishes a framework for both parties to develop joint projects and long-term infrastructure upgrades.
