NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 11 – Safaricom has reimbursed its customers with cash following the interruption of services experienced on Tuesday.
According to the service provider, this was a a token of gratitude for its customers’ patience during the incident.
“Thank you for your patience as we fixed the M-PESA service interruption recently. Please enjoy some cash back as a token of our gratitude. We appreciate you,” it stated.
M-Pesa was unavailable for several hours Tuesday due to what Safaricom attributed to a scheduled maintenance.
Customers were unable to access the service for transactions on the M-Pesa app, USSD code, and SIM card tool hampering businesses.
“M-PESA is undergoing scheduled maintenance,” read a message from Safaricom.
