NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 8 – Safaricom PLC, the region’s leading telecommunications company says it will undertake network maintenance that will disrupt some of its services temporarily on Sunday night.
In a statement, Safaricom announced that planned network maintenance is scheduled from 11:00 p.m. Sunday to 4:00 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2023.
The company cited the need to support ongoing innovations and meet the growing demand for its services as the reason for the network maintenance.
During this maintenance period, Safaricom PLC listed various services that may be intermittently available and requested patience from its customers.
Some of the affected services include Lipa Na M-PESA Pay Bill and Buy Goods, M-PESA business-to-customer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) transactions, USSD services such as *100# and *200#, Daraja Portal, and all M-PESA APIs.
Additionally, M-Shwari, KCB M-PESA, M-Kesho, pinless top-up, loT services, M-PESA App, Safaricom App, international money transfers through Western Union, MPESA Global, M-PESA organization portal, Dealer portal, and Lipa na M-PESA portal will also experience disruptions.
The telecommunications company assured its customers that all other services, including calls, data, SMS, and other M-PESA services, will remain available as usual.
Safaricom expressed regret for any inconvenience the scheduled maintenance may cause and thanked customers for their continued support, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining its status as the country’s leading service provider.
