MOSCOW, March 21 (Xinhua) — The Russian central bank announced Friday that it has decided to keep its key interest rate unchanged at 21 percent per annum.

“Current inflationary pressures have decreased but remain high, especially underlying ones,” the bank said.

The bank added that it would consider raising the key rate if disinflation dynamics do not ensure the achievement of the inflation target.

Russia has kept the record-high 21 percent interest rate since October 2024, when it was raised from the previous month’s 19 percent.
