Public Service advertises CBK Governor, Deputy Governor jobs

NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 30 – The Public Service Commission (PSC) is calling for Kenyans to apply for the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) governor and deputy governor positions.

In a job ad in local dailies, PSC chairperson Anthony Muchiri, however, said that applicants must meet certain requirements to qualify for the positions.

CBK Governor applicants must be Kenyan citizens with a deep understanding of global financial sector trends.

He or she must also be a person of integrity and meet the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.

Likewise, those applying should have at least 10 years of working experience in good governance as well as organizational and administrative skills.

The new governor is set to take over from Patrick Njoroge, who took over the position in 2015.

Njoroge, who is on his second and final four-year term, will be leaving CBK in June this year.

CBK is responsible for the management of the bank, including the organization, appointment, and dismissal of the staff.

The governor also signs, individually or jointly with other persons, contracts concluded by the bank and notes and securities issued by the bank.

The application window lapses on April 19, 2023, as interested parties are implored to submit their applications through the PSC.
