PGK Equator Tour Heads To Limuru For Third Leg As Samuel Njoroge Out To Solidify Lead

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 17 – Kenya’s top professional golfers return to action this week as the second edition of the PGK Equator Tour enters its third leg at Limuru Country Club from June 18–21.

More than 50 professionals will battle for honours at the course, as players seek to build momentum in the race for the 2026 Order of Merit title.

Safaricom Pro Team member Samuel Njoroge heads into the tournament as the current leader on the Order of Merit with 1,517 points accumulated from the opening two events of the season. After a strong start to the campaign, Njoroge will be aiming to extend his advantage as the battle for the season title intensifies.

Fellow Safaricom-Pro golfer Mohit Mediratta remains firmly in contention, occupying second place with 1,270 points following impressive performances in the opening events.

Kakamega Golf Club’s Dismas Indiza sits third on 890 points, ensuring a highly competitive battle at the top of the standings as the tour approaches and gains momentum.

“The season has started well for me, and I’m pleased to be leading the standings after the first two legs. There is always pressure that comes with being at the top, but my focus remains on staying consistent, executing my game plan, and building the momentum I’ve gained so far. I’m looking forward to a competitive week at Limuru,” said Samuel Njoroge.

The Limuru tournament features some of Kenya’s most accomplished and promising golfers, including Matthew Wahome, one of the country’s brightest young talents who made history as among the youngest players to compete at the Magical Kenya Open.

Also in action will be Daniel Nduva and Edwin Mudanyi, two of the tour’s top-ranked professionals whose consistent performances have attracted support from leading corporate sponsors.

Veteran golfer Dismas Indiza, widely regarded as one of Kenya’s most respected professionals, will bring his wealth of experience to the competition while continuing to inspire and mentor the next generation of golfers.

The event will also highlight the growing strength of women’s professional golf through the participation of Joyce Wanjiru, Naomi Wafula, and Margaret Njoki, who continue to raise the profile of the sport and inspire greater participation among female golfers.

Seasoned champions Greg Snow and David Wakhu will further strengthen the field, bringing a wealth of experience and a proven record of success on both the local and international stage.

The PGK Equator Tour continues to play a critical role in the development of professional golf in Kenya by providing a structured and competitive pathway for players to earn ranking points, gain tournament experience, and compete for opportunities at elite international events.

The 2026 season began with successful stops at VetLab Sports Club and Thika Sports Club, with Limuru Country Club now hosting the third leg before the circuit moves to its remaining events later in the year.
