NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 4 – The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is seeking a new Director General (DG) to replace George Njao, whose term is coming to an end.
In a notice published in a local daily, the Authority said the incoming DG will be responsible for implementing NTSA’s business plans and strategy, and providing support to the Board of Directors, among other key roles.
“The Director General is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Authority and is responsible to the Board of Directors for the Authority’s Vision, Mission, and Mandate as stipulated in the NTSA Act 2012. The Authority is seeking to recruit an individual who will provide strategic leadership to deliver on its mandate and fulfill its Vision and Mission,” NTSA stated.
According to the notice, qualified applicants must hold a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as engineering or business management, and possess at least 15 years of experience in either the public or private sector.
The new DG will take over from George Njao, who joined NTSA in 2019 after the expiry of Francis Meja’s three-year contract.
